Overview

Following on from the successful Energy Challenge, Accelerate is pleased to announce that financial support has again been obtained from Advantage West Midlands and the ERDF to help support the automotive sector through the facilitation of The Carbon Indexing and Energy Mapping Networks. Accelerate are also providing financial support for a Lean Green Manufacturing Network. Together the networks will aid companies in their efforts to improve energy and resource efficiency, combat waste, improve manufacturing techniques and tackle soaring resource and energy costs.

The Resource Efficiency Networks will support the automotive industry in the West Midlands to radically improve energy, resource and manufacturing efficiency and hence competitiveness. The Networks aim to increase the capacity of companies and the workforce to improve business performance in an environmentally sustainable way and to reduce costs at the same time.

Monitoring Tools

To successfully implement energy, resource and manufacturing efficiency improvements, and so reduce costs, a company must first understand its current operating efficiencies. Pro Enviro Ltd has developed a number of monitoring tools to ensure this is effectively undertaken. Over the course of the Network, participates will become familiar with the EnviroTrack and Carbon Index, and further details on both these can be seen by following the menus on the right of this screen.

Which Network is Right for Me?

Following detailed inaugural meetings at which the particular companies requirements and prioritises were discussed, the initial wave of companies joining the Resource Efficiency Networks have been allocated to the network which best serves their needs. If you wish to join the Carbon Indexing, Energy Mapping or Lean Green Manufacturing Network, or just find out more, please follow the menus to the top of this page.

Joining the Resource Efficiency Networks

The Carbon Indexing, Energy Mapping and Lean Green Manufacturing Green Networks include an introductory session, site survey, efficiency action plan, development workshops and online training materials. These networks are aimed at small-medium enterprise (SME) companies in the automotive sector, who are based in the West Midlands, particularly if they have a high resource and/or energy spend. To discuss joining any of the Networks, contact Neil Kimpton. Full contact details can be found here.
