Carbon Indexing Network
In brief this network will enable participating companies to:
- Monitor their energy, water and resource consumption and utilise these to construct a Carbon Index.
- Identify areas for efficiency improvements.
- Action energy, resource and water efficiency improvements and improve their Carbon Indexing score.
- Improve their overall business performance by reducing waste streams and reducing costs; (whilst not negatively affecting their output and delivery orders); in addition to improving their measurable environmental performance.
- Access many hours of relevant training material which will empower them to implement cost saving projects for their company. All training is supported with modular questionnaires to ensure knowledge is transferred from Pro Enviro Ltd to the participant.
- Share best practice and innovative ideas through regular network meetings.
The network will also:
- Enable the transfer of knowledge and expertise from Pro Enviro Ltd to participating companies.
- Ensure that participants reduce their energy and resource costs and reduce their carbon impact.
- Utilise a diagnostic tool process to measure energy improvements within the automotive sector.
- Create measurable energy, resource and carbon savings within the participating organisations.
- Provide support to companies in the development of competence in effective energy management and waste minimisation.
- Assist organisations in the implementation of best practice in energy and resource management through direct intervention and support assist projects.
- Enable participants to further cement and share their ideas, as well as receiving further ideas for efficiency improvement from industry experts, through regular network meetings.
Benefits
Participating companies will benefit from improved efficiency improvements and Caron Index score and the associated cost benefits, while individual employees will benefit from an increased awareness and skill level regarding energy and resource management and waste minimisation. The automotive sector and the economy as a whole will benefit from reduced carbon emissions and an improved environmental performance.
The emphasis of this Network is the creation of a high level of environmental awareness and knowledge within the participating companies to support the effective use of energy and resources. The adoption of new technologies and innovative methods will introduce cleaner and more efficient processes creating a positive effect on the environment and sustainability of the automotive sector.
The use of IT and ICT for the partial delivery and management of the project supports the environmental sustainability requirements of the UK by reducing unnecessary travel and wasted time within busy organisations. This is also aided by the fact that the majority of the work is done within the company thereby reducing the need for participants to travel. The effective implementation of the Network will ensure that the participating companies will improve their energy efficiency and waste management and reduction systems and become more environmentally sustainable themselves.

Pro Enviro has extensive experience in implementing improvement processes within the manufacturing sector and have participated in a number of European and DTI projects to up skill the manufacturing supply change in the UK. It has solid experience of running interactive programmes and already has useful environmental knowledge and use of the Internet for training delivery.
